It is 1,270 years ago from now. One of the temples which the Emperor Shomu erected in the various parts of Japan. He prayed for peace of the country by the Buddhism. A big ginkgo tree of the natural treasure. It is over 1,250 years old. A triple tower. It rises with a dignified figure. This triple tower was a tower with seven levels at first. It encountered a fire. It fell down by wind. After it was blown down by heavy wind in 1821 (Bunsei 4), it was rebuilt. The only tower architecture in Hida. Hon-dou was built in the Muromachi era. It is appointed to the important cultural property of the country. It is located around busy Kokubunji Street. It is the place like the tranquil oasis.
