The horseback archery track which was the starting point of the Kamakura Road. It is approximately 255m straight way from the east torii to the west torii which crosses the precincts. Horseback archery is held on third Sunday in April and September 16. It is historical Shinto ritual which Yoritomo Minamoto started in 1187 (Bunji 3). The powerful act which the archer dressed in hunting gear just like those days shoots three places of marks with arrows in sequence on the horseback while running through straight way. It is quiet horseback archery track, but the long straight soil way will makes you feel the full impact of horseback archery anytime.
