Taikobashi Bridge (Tsurugaoka Hachimangu)

When you walk the Dankazura following from the second torii and go through the third torii, then you can see three bridges are built over the Genpei-ike pond. Taiko-Bashi Bridge made of stone in the center, the wooden bridge with red railing from side to side. It is the stone bridge in the center to have been called " red bridge". It is said that it was a wooden bridge painted in red before it was built in 1182 (Yowa 2). You cannot see the red color in current Taiko-Bashi Bridge, but the name called "red bridge" makes us feel the old days at the time. However you can not cross the Taiko-Bashi Bridge for safety reasons now. Bridges of both sides can be crossed.
