Shingetsuan makes and sells the Matsushima specialty confectionery “Matsushima kouren”. The thin rice crackers are baked by hand one by one using the dough made with Sasanishiki rice from Miyagi prefecture. The manufacturing method has been kept since its foundation 680 years ago. The crispy texture and refined taste with moderate sweetness gain a popularity.
