Toyokuni Shrine

Hideyoshi Toyotomi who died in 1598 (Keicho 3) was given a title of God of the 'Hokoku Dai-myojin' (Great Luminous Deity of Our Bountiful Country), and was worshiped. It was become extinct with the Toyotomis extinction by an order of the Tokugawas, but it was revived in 1880 by an Imperial command of the Emperor Meiji. The large Chinese-style gate of the national treasure removed and rebuilt a castle gate of the Fushimi Castle. Articles related to Hideyoshi are released with the treasure building.
