Yasaka Shrine

It is a Shinto shrine said to be the foundation of 656 (Emperor Saimei 2) years, but is not sure. The enshrined deity is Susanoo-no-Mikoto. It was renamed to Yasaka-jinja Shrine with gods and Buddha separation of the Meiji. The Shinto shrine where the Gion festival and night Okera festival of the last day of the year are known to people, and is got close to with a name of the "Gion san". The Gion festival to be held in July is the most famous festival of Yasaka-jinja Shrine.
