Kiyomizu-dera Temple

You have gojo slope for a way to face Kiyomizu-dera Temple or go the Chawan-zaka, or you may hesitate. A car does not run very much, and the Chawan-zaka is quiet, and it sees a triple tower of Kiyomizu-dera Temple halfway. The Kiyomizu slope has a lot of souvenir shops, and there is pleasure to go the lively approach to a shrine in the depths of the gojo slope.
The Enchin shonin which found a waterfall of Otowa in 778 (Hoki 9) enshrines Kannon image on the waterfall, and it is assumed an opening that Tamuramaro Sakanoueno enshrined Juichimen Senju Kannon of the principal image later. The view opening out from the stage of the total hinoki boarded place which stretched in Kin-un-kei is beautiful seasonally. The waterfall of Otowa that the temple name was derived from is called "liquid gold" "life extension water" from ancient times and is respected as water of the purge.
