Shimogamo Shrine (Kamomioya Shrine)

The record that the fence of a shrine of the Shinto shrine was settled for in Emperor Sujin 2 (BC2) year remains. Tamayorihime-no-mikoto is enshrined to Azuma, and Kamotaketsunumi no Mikoto is worshiped to west. In one of the world's cultural heritage, 124,000 square meters of precincts are called "Forest of Tadas" and are appointed on the historic spot of the country. There are many events such as Shinto ritual of walking archery of May 5, the Mikage festival of 12th, too. Cherry tree, hydrangea, colored leaves and seasonal nature are beautiful. The paper fortune in connection with "The Tale of Genji" is popular, too.
