Kennin Temple

The daihonzan of the Rinzai sect Kennin Temple group. The Buddhist monastery forming a line from the imperial envoy gate of the important cultural property imitates Chinese Mt Baizhang-shan. The national treasure "god of the wind god of thunder figure screen" which was drawn by Sotatsu Tawaraya (replica is usually displayed at the chief priest quarter). "The dragon ascending to heaven figure" which was drawn by Yusho Kaiho. The Kenninji bamboo hedge around the tea-ceremony room is famous, too.
