Shinnyo-do Temple

A temple of the Tendai sect built in 984 (Eikan 2). It is the name called the Shinshou gokuraku Temple exactly. The Hon-dou of the important cultural property is built in the depths of the stone pavement that spread straight. The Amitabha that Jikaku Daishi Ennin carved the principal image with the Japanese nutmeg. The garden of the death of Buddha of the Karesansui with 'the Higashiyama 36 mountains' as making use of the surrounding landscape in the design of a garden is one of the highlight, too.
