Wakkanai Park

This extensive park is on the hill overlooking the town, the west of the Wakkanai city. You can see a figure of Sakhalin island on the fine day. In the garden, there are "the foundation 100 years monument" which you can overlook the Sarobetsu plain, Rishiri Island and Rebun Island from the Observatory, "Gate of the ice and snow" built in 1963 with the nostalgia to Sakhalin island which was Japanese territory. The indication of the visit time is two hours on foot.
