中辺路

The Kiiji-way which went south in the seashore in Kii peninsula shifts a course to the east in Kii-Tanabe and aims at Hongu approximately straight across the mountains. It is approximately 40km, the trip of 2 days and 1 night (or 3 days and 2 nights) from Takijiri-oji considered to be the entrance of precincts of Kumano to Hongu. The Nakahechi that many celebrities such as Sadaie Fujiwara, Shikibu Izumi, Buddhist priest Saigyo, Hidehira Fujiwara of the poet came and went is the first popular route even today. It is the route which the Nakahechi is comfortable to walk in in the ancient morality as there are many tourists, and is maintained.
